“First mile and last mile”

Engagement

Maximizing partnerships, global collaboration, information and technology transfer

GCSM maximizes information and technology transfer through value-chain development and strengthens the capacity of local producers and business owners by sharing results to enhance regional impact.

Utilizing a “first mile and last mile” approach to research and technology delivery, GCSM engages actors at inception. This co-creation process of research and technologies, facilitated in close partnership with end users and food system stakeholders, addresses identified demands, fosters continual feedback and improvement and leads to higher adoption rates.

Building on historical collaborations with our US Land Grant University and Global University partners, cutting-edge research and technology deployment will be further leveraged. The GCSM network has a portfolio of tested and registered ready-to-scale technologies for applications across the value chains. Multiple private and public partnerships support further scaling and commercialization of these technologies.
